Coffee-induced sleep

This morning was one of those where you wake up, have some coffee, read the paper, play some video games, read a book and then go back to sleep before the morning is over. You wake up periodically but never open your eyes. You know that afternoon is creeping up on you but there is no way that it will be faced yet. There is no clock in the room so you cannot even be tempted to look. Everytime you fall back to sleep you are met with the same dream at the same point from where you left before.Coffee induced dreams. They are weird like chocolate and cheese dreams. It must be the “C” dreams. I was in a morph of Holland and what I believed was Greece. Modern city with a college of glass blowing - had beautiful glass flowers and mushrooms lining the campus. The city was on a hill overlooking a turquoise blue ocean with dusty blue skies. I was walking down the roads to meet my family by dusk and rain clouds were chasing me. I would try to run away, looking up at dark gray patches lined with the flourescent pink and orange like a star setting behind everyone. Then dusty blue sky again. At one point is was not the rain falling on me but a super powered sprinkler - the kind that sprays out into a waving fan, back and forth. I couldn’t run quickly enough or the sprinkler had a long span as it hit me three times before I finally got passed that block.

There was some story line going on. Family, relatives, new students to TA in the winter, etc. People were around me and things were going on. I think at one point I was at Noah’s house and he was living with his mother and father. But he was a child and I was reading him bedtime stories. He was a little scared of me.

This kind of sleep and these kind of dreams make the rest of the day never seem very real at all. Christmas can be like that though. Two weeks of practicing outside the norm, of eating weird food, sleeping at weird hours and seeing old strangers.
